Runyararo graduated from Sheffield with a first in Film and Visual Effects in 2013. Her storytelling balances drama and sensitivity with a humanity that feels relatable and engaging.

Her work spans short films, television and streaming drama, often exploring human nature, identity and family through grounded, emotionally precise stories. In 2020, she directed What’s In A Name for The Uncertain Kingdom, a portrait of Brits with non-Western names and how those names have shaped their lives.

Runyararo has since directed acclaimed television work including Sex Education and Netflix’s Kaos, a contemporary reimagining of Greek mythology starring Jeff Goldblum. She was nominated for a BAFTA Emerging Talent award, named a Screen Daily Star of Tomorrow and selected as a BAFTA Breakthrough Writer/Director.
