Mike Mills is a filmmaker, graphic designer, and artist known for his emotionally resonant films and multidisciplinary creative work. Born in Berkeley, California in 1966, he graduated from Cooper Union in 1989. Mills wrote and directed the acclaimed films Thumbsucker (2005), Beginners (2011), and 20th Century Women (2016), the latter two earning him Academy Award nominations for Best Original Screenplay.
